1st Grade Crew // March is Women Empowerment Month

For so many years, women weren’t treated equally as men. We couldn’t vote and we couldn’t work the same jobs as men. Thankfully the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote and women began to feel more empowered than ever. Women started to work hard to pursue their dreams and meet certain goals in life. We, as women, began to feel unstoppable and told ourselves that we can do whatever we put our minds to.

Women should celebrate each other and feel proud of one another. I personally love Black Girls Rock! Black Girls Rock is an award show that honors women who are making a difference in the world, and acknowledges legends in the world who are seen as role models. The amazing part about Black Girls Rock is that it recognizes adults and young girls as well. Regardless of your age you can be honored for making a difference!

Here at DAA, 1st grade crew started a Girls Club to help uplift our girls to believe in themselves and tell them that they are beautiful in their own skin. Our Girls Club has been empowering each other and motivating the girls in our crew to stay focused in class to reach their own goals in life. The girls love the club and really try to pursue their own goals for the week with the encouragement of others! 1st Grade Girls rock in becoming their own important individuals this school year!
