Fitness at DAA

This year I had the pleasure of introducing our students to the sport of tennis. We had so much fun learning the basic foundational skills of the sport. The goal of the program was focused on skill development, player progression, physical fitness, fun & enjoyment, and education/knowledge.

Skill Development: The primary goal of a tennis program is to help players develop and improve their tennis skills. This includes various aspects of the game such as technique, footwork, agility, endurance, and strategy.

Player Progression: Having a focus on player progression, helps individuals advance from one skill level to the next. This can involve setting and achieving specific milestones, participating in tournaments, and working towards higher competitive levels.

Physical Fitness: Tennis is a physically demanding sport, and tennis programs typically aim to enhance the overall fitness of players. This includes improving cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, and coordination.

Fun and Enjoyment: We strive to create an enjoyable and engaging environment for participants. The goal is to develop a love for the sport, encourage long-term participation, and make the overall experience fulfilling for players of all ages and skill levels.

Education and Knowledge: It’s imperative to incorporate educational components, teaching players about the rules of the game, tennis history, tactics, and mental strategies. The goal is to enhance players' understanding of the sport and help them make informed decisions on the court.

I’m happy that our students enjoyed the program. It was a pleasure to see all the growth and students who wanted to develop their skills outside of school.
